Towards the healing of a wounded world

“Is it possible that we could work together with other species for the healing of the planet? Is it conceivable that we could extend our technologies and develop our listening skills to comprehend languages that are not immediately intelligible to us? Already these include a partial understanding of whale song, the way democratic decisions to move are made by birds and herd animals, the curiosity of the octopus, the wood wide web beneath our feet, the gestures and sounds of chimpanzees, the language of trees and even the humble cockroach. Perhaps by listening we might discover a common spiritual intelligence to which we can relate. One that derives from our common source of spiritual and biological being, one where we might develop a more profound attitude to creation and its spiritual gifts and discover our proper place within its majesty.” Pauline Rudd
