Storytelling

Many of us are fortunate enough to have encountered people in our lives who have made a subtle impact. Years later, when reviewing these meetings it becomes clear that the subtle impact resulted in major and beneficial changes in mindset, attitude and direction.

Touching a Life is a series of such stories told by Mike Vernon, they are designed to be entertaining, occasionally amusing, and always thought provoking about the people who have changed the direction of the listeners life. These are as yet, unpublished, stories about people that have touched Mike’s life. Through sharing them, perhaps their gift can be passed on.

The voice is the great resonator for re-tuning our human instrument of mind, body and spirit. Its natural overtones can alter our frequencies for the better. In these three evenings we will explore various forms of toning, natural sounds, mantra and Taoist sounds for the organs and experience inner sound meditation

24 - 26th September 2010
Yoga, Meditation and Pilates
with Helen Stephenson

Helen has practised Yoga and Insight (Vipassana) Meditation since 1979. In 1981 she began to study classical/mindful yoga under the spiritual guidance of Sri S. Rajagopalan. Until 2008 she worked as the Senior Pilates Teacher with the advanced Pilates training school and studio in Milton Keynes.  She regularly teaches at the Buddhist Meditation centre in Gaia House, Devon,  Insight Meditation and Yoga with Yanai Postelnik. She taught retreats in Germany and Russia and teaches now in the Milton Keynes area and other places.

During this retreat we will practice postures, breathing, relaxation and meditation. Helen works from inner stillness, movements are slow, precise and aligned with breathing. By paying attention to the present experience we can deepen our awareness of silence and joyfulness which pervades everything in the creation.
